One of the secrets to a great family session—especially with high-energy little ones—is focusing more on fun than on perfectly posed pictures.

Their outfits blended seamlessly with the warm tones of the fall landscape, and as the sun dipped lower, it created the most flattering, golden haze around them. Whether snuggled together on a blanket in the tall grass or standing hand in hand on the trail, they radiated so much closeness and love.

While there’s no single “right” answer, there are helpful patterns depending on your season of life… and what actually feels realistic.

I am so blessed to have my clients come back repeatedly for photos. This awesome family has done multiple sessions with me, including 2 golden hour shoots!

How did time get away from me? I apparently haven’t blogged since August so I have a bunch to catch up on. Starting with this beautiful golden hour session and some of my favourite people.

In the newborn industry we call this a Unicorn. Trust me when I say that it is rare to have a whole session go so smoothly. Hence the title of Unicorn.

Sometimes I wish I could have a professional photographer follow me around, and document my motherhood. The real stuff. The messes, the meltdowns but also the cuddles, the laughs and the moments.

Mother’s Day is almost here, which means it is time again for my favourite sessions! The Mommy & Me Minis!

It has been a few years since I have made any changes to my session pricing and it was time. I felt like there was confusion with the prior system so I clarified it all into 1 package for each type of session. This doesn’t mean the packages are more expensive though!

This sweet gift from a boyfriend, also included her favourite animals. The sunset really showed up for us and we raced around to capture it all.

I had the incredible opportunity to photograph a beach session on Prince Edward Island! If you have never been there, I highly recommend making the trip. It is such a unique place, filled with beautiful coastline sights.

Golden Hour sessions are my favourite, and it is no doubt because I love fall so much. The colours are stunning, the weather is no longer uncomfortably hot and the sun sets at just the right time of day. Take a look at this fun session.

I just love when clients become friends. It brings me joy to see this crew at church, on a weekly basis. It is an honour to capture their family memories.

Remember when it was still fall? I can’t believe we made it to January 6th without snow sticking on the ground. That was mind blowing lol. I will forever remember 2023 as the longest autumn of my life. I could live with that kind of weather every year 🙂
