My dear friend recently welcomed a baby girl to their family. It was an honour to welcome and photograph her second daughter more than 9 years later. Big sis was one of the first babies I ever photographed. It seems fitting, upon JIP’s 9th Anniversary, to share this session.
This fall I had the pleasure of being “in” on such a fun surprise. My golden hour family clients came and asked me to photograph Mama so as not to show her baby bump. They were keeping the pregnancy a secret from their family, so they could show up one day and surprise them with a new grandbaby. I thought this was incredible, especially considering they saw their extended family DAILY!!!
It already seems like it has been winter FOREVER! It first snowed 41 days ago… lol, yes I am counting. Mostly counting down the days till I escape to Mexico, and back into the sunshine we all crave so much.
This is one of the questions I get asked most often by my clients! What is a Posed session? I offer two styles of photography for your session, Lifestyle and Posed. This blog post is all about my Posed style of photography.
I’ve been anxiously anticipating the arrival of spring and the return of warmth and sun! So much so, that I sat down and scheduled all my session dates for fall. Golden Hour sessions begin on August 30th and go until September 17th. This is the only time, during the entire year, that these sessions occur.
No matter what number of child you are on, a new baby is ALWAYS exciting! These 2 big brothers welcomed a baby sister to their crew and she is such a doll.
The prep guide I send, ideally, should help the session run smoothly BUT one thing I have learned is that toddlers are totally unpredictable!
You spend so much time capturing your little ones every milestone. Collecting videos and pictures of those amazing first few years of life but something is missing, YOU! You aren’t in the memories!
I love to see the sweet little girls and the busy boys show their stuff. I thought this year I would encounter more stranger danger from the little ones but it has been mostly the opposite. I think everyone is just excited to be somewhere other than their own house.
This time of year is so magical, especially when you have children! I love watching my children count down the days to Christmas. Seeing them participate in so many fun, family activities that make this season so wonderful.
Lifestyle sessions capture such genuine love and emotion. The tender glances, hugs and snuggles can’t be staged, only captured.
Becoming a big brother or sister isn’t always a dream come true for the former ‘baby’ of the family. It can be a really difficult transition for toddlers to deal with.
This Black Friday we are going DIGITAL! Grab this once a year deal before November 30th to save BIG on professional images of your loved ones.
Newborn sessions have my heart. Your precious new arrival is the highlight of this session. Capturing family, along with your brand new baby is the perfect mix!
Three boys makes for a busy set but we had lots of time to capture both lifestyle and posed images. Even when middle brother wanted nothing to do with family pictures! I love how a camera can capture even the quickest of smiles from Mr. Grumpy.
There is no time as magical, as sunset golden hour! Golden Hour occurs about 1 hour before the sun is set, when the sky is filled with beautiful golden colours and hues. This time of day is ideal for photography as the sun is low in the sky, giving the perfect directional light. These sessions […]
The absolute BEST time of year for photos is in the late summer and early fall. The daylight is getting shorter and the sun starts to set early enough for your little ones to still be awake for photos. The beautiful tones of sunset and the directional light all work perfectly for those warm, candid captures.
