What should I wear?
I have a client closet filled with numerous amazing dresses, to help you look your best. You can see them all here. I am adding new pieces to the closet each year, so check in to see if there are any missing from the online gallery. I also recommend getting your nails, hair AND makeup done if you have the budget for it. You won’t regret getting pampered for this special event.
When should I book?
You can book as soon as you know you are expecting! You pay a deposit to hold your place, with the remainder due a few weeks prior to your photo session. Plan ahead to schedule your shoot when you are between 28-34 weeks pregnant. You want to have a belly that ‘pops’ but not be in the last 6 weeks when the body tends to get puffy. This also helps beat any babies that decide to come earlier than expected.
What undergarments should I wear for my shoot?
This question is HUGE, because some of my outfits are a tad see-through. Make sure you wear a NUDE COLOURED bra and underwear. Seamless pieces are nice, if you don’t like a thong, as they won’t show lines. If possible wear a strapless bra for the dresses that position off the shoulder. It will give you a better bust-line in your images. You can also wear a pretty lacy bra, if you want it to be exposed with some of the dress options.
Do you take nudes?
NO, I do not photograph nudes. I will however, capture a bare belly. There are a few dresses that will work for this, without showing everything.
Do you take posed images on a solid coloured backdrop?
Yes, this is an option, though most of my clients choose boho-lifestyle shoots. I have strobe lighting, with white, grey and mocha backdrops.
My most frequently asked question is:
If I book a newborn session, is there a discount for a maternity session?
Yes! Save $100 when you add a maternity session (mini, dij or ace) to your booked newborn session (mini, dij or ace). The deposit for the newborn session, plus the cost of the maternity session must be paid prior to your maternity photoshoot. The remaining owing on the newborn session can be paid a few weeks prior to your newborn photoshoot.
I think that covers the main questions regarding a maternity session here at Jen Isackson Photography. You can see more answers to general session FAQ’s here!
